Henry Blueskin® SA is a self-adhered water-resistive air barrier membrane composed of an SBS rubberized asphalt compound integrally laminated to a blue, engineered thermoplastic film surface. It is designed to adhere to prepared substrates to provide an air, vapor, and water-resistive layer in wall applications or as a flashing/penetration membrane.
The membrane is described as flexible at low temperatures and impermeable to air, moisture vapor and water, maintaining a continuous barrier when installed. It is also noted to be self-gasketing when penetrated and under compression with self-tapping screws.
Blueskin SA can be used as a transition sheet in systems where greater movement is anticipated and for tying into metal on curtain walls, windows, and doorframes. The product is also specified as compatible with Henry® Air-Bloc fluid applied air barriers for integration with those systems.
